Stories Behind the Songs
All The Earth
My sister asked me to write a short song for a women’s ministry event that she was a guest presenter. At the time, my 3 turn 4 years young daughter asked me to make a song with the sound of a heart beat. I recorded a sample of her heart beat and slowed it down. I went to my piano and played acoustically over the beat and finished the song…
This is the original song. I re-produced it and is now featured in the Prayers & Praise album.
He Has Risen
In my early 20s I was a music co-ordinator for my local church. One day I was asked by Pr Robinson to write a song about the story of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. I got on my piano, started humming and playing a tune. Back then I didn’t have my home studio set up, so I called my producer and booked a session to record my song, as I needed to perform it that coming Sabbath morning in church.
Come And Meet Me
I volunteered as a teen counsellor for the Cairns Pathfinder Club. Around this time, I was working on my first music single, called Seeing You, which I later re-titled: I’ll Be Seeing You Someday (featured in the Prayers & Praise album).
To start our Sabbath afternoon, we would have a praise & worship session. This song came from one of those discussions about who Jesus is and what would you expect and do when you meet Him personally.
